La Fille mal gardée Blu-ray (The Royal Ballet) 2025

La Fille mal gardée follows Lise, who is determined to marry her true love, Colas, despite her mother’s plans to wed her to the wealthy Alain. With warmth, humour and clever twists, this charming tale celebrates love triumphing over expectation.

Filmed in 2025, this delightful production stars Francesca Hayward as Lise and Marcelino Sambé as Colas. Frederick Ashton’s much-loved ballet, inspired by Jean Dauberval’s original French work, is brought to life with vibrant countryside designs by Osbert Lancaster and remains one of The Royal Ballet’s most cherished classics.
