Ballet Besties: Yara's Chance to Dance Book follows Yara, a young girl who joins a community dance school and discovers a supportive circle of ballet besties — just in time to help save their beloved studio.
When Yara enrols at Shimmer & Shine, she quickly finds friendship, encouragement and a new passion for dancing. But trouble strikes when their grumpy landlady, Dame Clougston‑Wilmott, threatens to shut the studio down. Suddenly, it’s up to Yara and her new friends to work together and keep their dance home alive. As the first book in the inclusive and accessible Ballet Besties series, this heart‑warming story celebrates teamwork, perseverance and the joy of finding where you belong. Co‑written by Royal Ballet Principal Yasmine Naghdi and award‑winning children’s author Chitra Soundar, and illustrated by Paula Franco, it’s the perfect read for young dancers.
“I hope all young readers will find inspiration in the stories and will be encouraged to take up ballet or dance lessons.” - Yasmine Naghdi
