Natalia Osipova stars in The Mother, a powerful narrative dance production choreographed and directed by master storyteller Arthur Pita. Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s dark tale, The Story of a Mother, this sumptuously designed production also features multi-award winning dancer Jonathan Goddard in a variety of hypnotic guises. This is an inventive new production which conjures up a dangerous, kaleidoscopic world, combining narrative dance and drama.

"A natural dance actress, Osipova brings a fierce power to her characters’ emotions. This work takes her into new territory, from the domestic to harrowing need." The Independent
"...a star vehicle for the ballerina Natalia Osipova, an incomparably intense dance actress, who gives a terrifyingly acute performance as a grief-stricken mother searching for her lost infant." The Times
"Pita’s production is rich with metaphoric possibility. It could echo any mother’s journey in its darkest hours: the bloody brutality of childbirth, the dissociation of sleep deprivation, the self-sacrifice of parenthood. It’s a hellish tour de force" The Guardian
