Journey down the rabbit hole and into a world that is curiouser and curiouser… Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland returns to the main stage of the Royal Opera House this spring, with exuberant choreography, captivating stage effects and a wonderful score by Joby Talbot.

The whimsical cast of characters that appear in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland are some of the most well-known in fiction. The brilliantly vicious Queen of Hearts, the mysterious White Rabbit and, of course, the ballet’s heroine Alice are brought to life on stage with inventive choreography and incredible costumes.

The dolls are made using soft linen and are handmade by Albetta to emulate the costumes worn by Royal Ballet dancers. Artist and designer Lauren Catris took inspiration from a tea party book given to her as a birthday gift one year to create the beautiful Alice Rectangle Scarf. The book reminded Lauren of the iconic Mad Hatter’s tea party, and so she decided to create an homage to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The symmetrical folk style pattern featured on the cover of the book also inspired the design of the scarf.
