This exquisite Covent Garden Tote bag features exclusive illustrations by Portia Graves. Crafted in the UK using organic cotton, this spacious tote bag is an elegant and practical choice for everyday use. It is inspired by Covent Garden's iconic architecture and vibrant atmosphere. It highlights the Royal Ballet and Opera, Apple Market, Jubilee Market, and the Main Stage, capturing the spirit of the piazza with its performers.
Portia started by photographing the areas of Covent Garden she loves including the Royal Opera House. She sketched simple outlines and shading with a charcoal style pencil, then added a splash of colour keeping it neutral. She digitally painted watercolours behind each sketch to decide which colour scheme and settled on a fresh mint green and pale dusky rose. The design was turned into a seamless pattern for printing, using a textured watercolour paper and then digitally stitched it all together.
