The Night Creatures: Firefly Book

The Night Creatures: Firefly is the first book in the upcoming Night Creatures trilogy, pairing Robert Macfarlane’s lyrical verse with Luke Adam Hawker’s extraordinary copper‑plate etchings to tell an uplifting story about hope and finding light in the darkness.

The tale follows a young girl who stumbles upon a firefly‑lit meadow — a place where small sparks bring comfort, courage and wonder. Macfarlane’s gentle, poetic words are illuminated by Hawker’s 25 hand‑needled etchings, creating vivid, glowing illustrations that feel almost alive. Together, they craft a magical, moving introduction to the natural world and the quiet brightness that can guide us through the night.
