Curtain up is a great book and answers many questions about the professions and talents required for both ballets and operas. Thanks to Figaro the Cat, we learn captivating things about the backstage, the special effects, the long preparation required by everyone, members of the orchestra, singers, dancers, support professions. This book is a gem. I'm very very happy with my purchase.
Two of my grandchildren read this book with me - my 9 year old grandson and his 5 year old sister. Both were fascinated - there were things to interest both boys and girls, and they were delighted to discover connections to stories they knew, such as The Nutcracker. A perfect preparation for the 'Curtain Up' workshop.
