The 1984 DVD by Northern Ballet explores a dystopian society in which Winston Smith is under the constant surveillance of Big Brother. However, his encounter with Julia sparks a rebellion as they fall in love. Guest Choreographer and former Royal Ballet dancer Jonathan Watkins brings George Orwell's masterpiece to life, while the brand new score composed by Tony-nominated Alex Baranowski, who has collaborated with the award-winning band The xx, is performed by Northern Ballet Sinfonia.
