1984 DVD (Northern Ballet)

The 1984 DVD by Northern Ballet explores a dystopian society in which Winston Smith is under the constant surveillance of Big Brother. However, his encounter with Julia sparks a rebellion as they fall in love. Guest Choreographer and former Royal Ballet dancer Jonathan Watkins brings George Orwell's masterpiece to life, while the brand new score composed by Tony-nominated Alex Baranowski, who has collaborated with the award-winning band The xx, is performed by Northern Ballet Sinfonia.

Too short and linear

Too short and the plot is repetitive and predictable. The dance is very slick and powerfull though.
